At Friends Medical And General Stores, we stay pretty busy. We are right in Somwar Peth, Pune, sitting just opposite the Ladkat Petrol Pump. It’s a handy spot because people can pull over and grab what they need while they're getting fuel. We keep a mix of things here, not just medicines. You can find your regular prescriptions but also soaps, snacks, and stuff for the house. It's a general store at heart. We see a lot of people coming in after seeing the doctor, looking a bit tired, so we try to get their orders ready fast. The shop isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit a lot onto the shelves. Sometimes it feels like we’re playing Tetris with the boxes. My friends and family often drop by to chat, which keeps the atmosphere light even when it’s raining outside or the traffic on the road is loud. We don't have any big slogans. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer. It's been part of the neighborhood for years. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the surrounding buildings. We know their names and what they usually buy. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. Somwar Peth is a lively area and we’re glad to be right in the middle of it.
