Executive Engineer, Z.P. Pune

I work as the Executive Engineer for the Zilla Parishad in Pune. You can find our base at Silverwood Appt, Flat No 102, which is right near the Palande Courier in the Erandwane area of Kothrud. The Pune 411038 area is where I spend most of my time. Kothrud is a busy part of the city, and being near the courier office makes it easy for people to find the building. The flat we use as an office is simple. It has some chairs, a few big tables for laying out plans, and plenty of files. Being with the Z.P. means the work is all about the local district. We look at rural development, roads, and other public works. It’s not just sitting in the office in Erandwane; I’m often out in the wider Pune district looking at projects. The traffic in Kothrud can be a nightmare during rush hour, so I try to time my site visits carefully. Inside the office, it’s mostly quiet except for the phone ringing once in a while. We aren’t a big firm with hundreds of employees. We are a small team that keeps things moving for the local government. There’s always a bit of dust on the windows from the road outside. We drink a lot of coffee and go through a lot of pens. It’s just the normal life of an engineer working in a city like Pune. We don’t do any big advertising.
