If you walk around Pimple Saudagar, you’ll find us tucked into our spot. Dinshaw Really Rich Ice Cream is mostly about the freezers humming in the background and the bright lights inside. It’s a simple setup. We spend the day keeping the glass clean and making sure the temperature is exactly where it needs to be so nothing melts. Pimple Saudagar has a lot of families, so we see a lot of kids coming in after school or in the evenings with their parents. It gets pretty busy after dinner time when everyone wants something sweet. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decor, just the usual counters and the bins of ice cream. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when three groups come in at once, but we manage. The staff here is used to the rush. We’ve learned to work fast but we still have time for a quick chat with the regulars. It’s a nice way to spend the day, honestly. Watching people enjoy a scoop of something cold when it’s hot outside makes the work feel worth it. We keep the place open late because that’s when most people have the time to stop by. It’s not complicated work, but it takes a lot of attention to keep everything running smoothly and the stock filled up. We’re just a part of the neighborhood here in Pimple Saudagar.
