Our office is tucked away in flat 101, right behind the Bank of Baroda on Plot Number 60. It’s in a part of Pune that’s seen a lot of change over the years. Dinesh Shroff and Choice Builders started out small, and we’ve mostly stayed that way because it’s easier to manage things ourselves. We do a lot of coordination from this small room. There’s a big table in the middle where we spread out the architectural drawings. It’s often a bit messy with rolls of paper and pens everywhere. We spend a good chunk of our day dealing with the logistics of construction—ordering cement, talking to masons, and checking on the progress of various sites. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit by the window and wait for it to come back on. Being near the bank makes it easy for us to handle the financial side of the business too. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just talk to people plainly and tell them what’s possible and what isn’t. Construction has its share of headaches, like rain delays or workers not showing up, but we’ve learned to take it in stride. We’ve lived in Pune our whole lives, so we care about how the buildings here look and function. It’s just our daily routine, nothing more. We try to make things work despite the usual hurdles of the trade.
