Devika Dance Academy

Our dance academy is located on Apte Road. If you know the area, you know it’s a place with a lot of activity and students. We have a space here where people come to learn how to dance. It’s not a huge studio with mirrors on every single inch of the wall, but it’s got enough room for a group to move around without bumping into each other too much. We teach different styles depending on who’s available to teach and what people want to learn. Most days, you can hear the music from the street before you even get inside. It gets quite loud when the classes are in full swing. We spend a lot of time just practicing steps and going over routines. The floor gets a lot of use, so we’re always sweeping it or making sure it’s not too slippery. It’s a pretty simple setup. We don’t have a big reception desk or fancy brochures. People usually hear about us from their friends or neighbors who’ve seen us on Apte Road. We see kids coming in after school and some adults who want to do something active in the evenings. It’s a lot of hard work, honestly, and it can get quite sweaty in there during the summer. But we just keep the music playing and keep moving. It’s just a local place for people who enjoy dancing to gather and practice. We’ve been here for quite some time now.
