Deshpande Music Class

Our little music spot is tucked away right behind National Plaza in the Parvati area. It is not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for it, but once you hear the instruments through the walls, you will know you are in the right place. We have a few different things going on here, mostly people trying to learn the basics of singing or playing a few tunes. It is often a bit noisy because someone is always practicing in the corner while someone else is trying to learn a new scale. We do not have any soundproof rooms or high-end recording gear. It is just a simple room with some mats on the floor and a few instruments leaning against the walls. Some kids come in after their school day is over, and we also have some adults who stop by after work because they have always wanted to learn a few songs. We do not follow any strict corporate curriculum. We just try to get the notes right and help people enjoy the music they are making. Sometimes the harmonium needs a bit of tuning, or a string breaks on a guitar, and we just deal with those things as they happen. It is a very casual environment for everyone. If you show up a few minutes early, you might have to wait a bit while the previous lesson finishes up. We have been in this neighborhood for a while, and the neighbors are used to us.
