Sai Carpentary Works

You can find Sai Carpentary Works at Shop No. 3, Sr No. 21, right across from the Maharashtra Bank in the Talegawn Chakan area. It’s a busy spot with people heading into the bank all day long. Our shop is usually full of wood shavings and that heavy smell of sawdust. We do all sorts of woodworking here. Sometimes it's a simple chair repair, and other times it's building a whole cabinet set from scratch for a local house. We don't have fancy power tools for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand with saws and planes. It takes longer that way, but the finish is different. The shop is a bit small, so when we’re working on a big project, you have to step over things to get around. We don’t mind the mess, though. It’s part of the trade. My hands are usually covered in wood glue or dust, so I don't always answer the phone right away when it rings. If you come by, you’ll likely see us hunched over a workbench. We aren't trying to be the biggest carpentry shop in Chakan. We just want to make things that don't fall apart after a month of use. It’s quiet work in a way, even with the hammering. We just focus on the wood and the measurements and try to get it right. It’s a good life if you like working with your hands and building stuff.
