Baskin & Robbins

We are located right here in Kothrud on Khadilkar Road, near Dada Maharaj Wadi. It gets pretty crowded around here in the evenings. This shop has been here a while now. Running an ice cream place is mostly about making sure the freezers stay cold and the floors don't get sticky from the kids. People come in after dinner usually. It’s a small space, so when more than five people walk in at once, it feels tight. I spend a lot of time checking the stock and making sure the scoops are clean. The lights on the street outside are bright at night. Sometimes the power goes out in the area and we have to worry about things melting, but usually, it’s fine. Kothrud has changed a lot since we started. There are more shops now and more traffic. We see the same faces every week, families mostly. They come in, look at the tubs for a long time, and then pick the same thing they always get. It’s nice to see that. I usually stay until closing time to lock up. It’s quiet once the shutters go down. The street gets a bit lonely after ten. Tomorrow morning, we do it all over again, checking the temperatures and getting everything ready before the sun gets too hot. It’s a simple job, but it keeps us busy enough throughout the day.
