I’ve been working at 972 North Kasbabalives for longer than I care to remember. This is where Balaji Agro Poultry Farm Private Limited operates. It isn’t some big, shiny factory you might see on TV. It’s just a place with lots of chickens and plenty of hard work to go around. Every morning, the birds start making noise before the sun even thinks about coming up, and that’s when my day begins too. We spend a lot of time just moving feed and making sure the water lines aren't clogged up with grit. The air here usually smells like grain and dry earth. The gate has a bit of a rust spot on the left side that I keep meaning to fix but never quite get to. People around the neighborhood know where we are because of the trucks coming in and out. It gets pretty dusty in the summer, and we have to keep the fans running non-stop so the birds don't get too stressed out. Sometimes the power goes out, and then we’re all rushing around to check the generator. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do. We just focus on the daily chores and getting through the list of things that need fixing. There’s always a fence to patch or a roof leak to look at. We stay busy enough that the days go by fast and the work is honest.
