Being right near Kalndi Park at 259 in Vishrantwadi makes this a good spot. People come by after their walks or when they are taking their kids to the park. We keep a lot of cold drinks and snacks because of that. The shop isn't very large but we pack a lot into it. You have to walk carefully so you don't knock anything over. We have bags of flour and sugar stacked near the door. The counter is old wood and it’s seen a lot of use. My father used to sit here before me. Now I handle most of the daily work. We get the morning newspapers delivered early and that’s when the first customers arrive. Usually, they want milk or cigarettes. The afternoons are quiet when it's hot. I usually sit on the stool and listen to the radio. Then it picks up again in the evening. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Just the name over the door. Sometimes we have to hunt for change in the drawer. Everyone knows everyone around here so nobody minds waiting a minute. We try to stock the brands people ask for most. If something new comes out we might try a few packs to see if they sell. It's just a regular neighborhood shop where we try to be helpful. We keep the floor clean and the items easy to find for the locals.
