Ashok Engineers

We are over at Gala No - 5 in the Kruti Industrial Estate. It is right opposite the old Sangam Press on Karve Road in Kothrud. Finding us is usually easy once you get onto Karve Road, but sometimes the traffic in Pune makes it a bit of a crawl. Ashok Engineers has been in this spot for a while. The shop isn't huge, but we have enough space for the lathes and the tools we use every day. If you look for the Kruti Industrial Estate sign, we are just inside there. The floor usually has a bit of oil or metal shavings on it, which is pretty normal for an engineering shop. We have a few neighbors who do similar work, so there is always the sound of grinding or hammers hitting metal in the background. It can be a bit noisy during the peak hours of the afternoon. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. Pune gets quite rainy during the monsoon, and sometimes the water pools up a bit near the entrance of the estate, but we manage. Being in Maharashtra, we get that heavy heat too. Most people who come by are regulars or people from the nearby businesses needing something fixed or machined. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. It’s a straightforward setup. We keep the machines running and try to stay organized.
