As Engineer

Our little office for As Engineer is tucked away in the New Top Hill View Society. We are right across from Panchavati in Chavan Nagar, Dhan Kawadi. If you know the Pune area, it’s a pretty busy spot but our society stays mostly quiet. I started this because I like fixing things and seeing how they work. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints or site plans at Krishnai Bunglow 42. It’s more of a home-office setup than a big corporate building. There are usually rolls of paper everywhere and coffee mugs on every flat surface. Pune has a lot of engineers, but we just focus on the projects that come our way from the local area. My desk is right by the window so I can see the cars going by toward the main road. Sometimes the neighbors stop by to chat while I'm working on a calculation or a drawing. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We take our time to make sure the measurements are okay. Sometimes we have to go out to sites, but mostly I’m here. The weather gets nice in the evenings and that’s when I usually finish up the day's notes and head home. It’s a simple way to make a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city. Just doing the engineering work that needs doing for the people around Dhan Kawadi and making sure things stay built right.
