Anitas Gurukull Music Academy

We have been running Anitas Gurukull Music Academy for quite some time now right in the Camp area. If you know where Samir Orthopaedic Hospital is, we are just directly opposite that building. It gets a bit noisy around here with the traffic, but once you step inside, it is all about the music. We have different rooms where people come to learn instruments or practice their singing. It is not a fancy place with marble floors or anything like that. We just have some chairs, the instruments, and some fans that hum along while people play. Sometimes the kids show up late because of the buses, and other times we are just sitting here waiting for the power to come back on so we can get started with the afternoon sessions. Our walls are covered with some old posters and some photos from over the years. It is a simple setup because we care more about the sound than the decor. People from around the neighborhood know us well. We do not spend much time on fancy talk. Mostly, we just spend our days listening to scales and helping people get their notes right. The instruments are well-used and have some scratches, but they work fine for what we need. We usually keep the front door open to let a breeze in, so you might hear a violin or a harmonium drifting out into the street near the hospital entrance. It is just how we do things here.
