Amul Ice Cream Parlour

In Koregaon Park, specifically on the 14th Cross in Chandra Layout, you can find our parlour. We are in Shop No 4 on Lane No 7. There are always people walking around this part of the city. We keep the shop bright and try to stay on top of the cleaning. The freezers are the most important things in here. I am always listening for that steady hum to make sure they are working. When the supply truck comes to Phase I, I have to lift a lot of heavy boxes. I try to arrange everything by flavor so I can grab them quickly. Evenings are always the busiest time for us. Once dinner is over, families come in looking for something sweet. Because the white tile floor shows every bit of dirt, I spend a lot of time with a broom. We put a small bench outside on the sidewalk for people to use. It is a nice spot to sit and watch the traffic on Lane No 7. Our sign stays lit until very late at night. I often chat with the regulars about the local news or the weather. Most of the time, it is just me and the ice cream tubs. Standing near the open freezer doors makes me cold, but you get used to it. Running a shop in Koregaon Park is a simple life. I find myself changing the light bulbs often because they are always on for the late customers.
