Amit Engineers is located at 30/13 in the D-2nd Block of the M.I.D.C. area in Chinchwad. This is a heavy industrial zone, so everything around us is about manufacturing and engineering. Our building is a standard industrial unit. It has been our base for a long time. The street is wide enough for the big trucks that come through to deliver raw materials or pick up finished goods. Inside, it smells like metal and cutting oil. We have various machines set up across the floor space. It’s a bit dark inside even with the lights on, but it keeps the heat out during the summer months. The M.I.D.C. in Chinchwad is a huge place, and sometimes people get a bit lost trying to find the right block, but once you find the D-2nd section, we aren't hard to spot. We spend our days mostly on our feet, moving between the machines and the workbench. There is a lot of repetitive work, but that is the nature of engineering. We have a small area for paperwork, though it usually ends up covered in blueprints or measuring tools. It’s a practical environment for practical work. The sound of the machines is constant, a low thrum that you stop noticing after an hour. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get the orders out on time. The clock on the wall is a bit slow, but we go by our watches anyway. We share the block with a few other workshops like ours.
