I've been here at Asha Nager for a while now. Finding our spot can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the area behind Shivaji Nagar Housing Society. We are tucked away in building 59, right near the busy Senapati Bapat Road. If you know Pune, you know how that main road stays packed with cars and bikes all day long. In here, it’s usually quieter. Most days involve sitting at the workbench with tools and various parts scattered around. Mr. Pramod B. Patil owns the place, and we just try to keep things running smoothly. The shop isn't fancy. It has older shelves and the smell of solder sometimes hangs in the air. People from the nearby housing society drop by often. Sometimes they just want to chat or ask a quick question about some gadget that stopped working. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. It’s just a regular electronics place in a residential pocket. The morning tea usually comes from the stall around the corner, and that’s when we start looking at whatever came in the day before. The light in here is a bit dim in the afternoons, but we have enough desk lamps to see the tiny circuits. It’s a steady kind of life, working on things and watching the neighbors walk by toward the main road. We keep the doors open when the weather is nice, though the dust from the street finds its way in anyway.
