Ajanta Soap Works

Our factory is situated at Plot No. 11 and 12 within the Ramtekadi Industrial Estate in Hadapsar. It is a busy area and you can usually tell you are close to our place because of the smell of soap that hangs in the air. Ajanta Soap Works is a straightforward operation where we spend most of our time mixing ingredients and watching the cooling trays. We have some large vats that have been with us for years, and they still do the job just fine. The floor is often a bit slick from the oils we use, so everyone has to be careful where they walk. We have a small team of workers who have been with us for a long time and they know exactly how to cut the bars by hand. It is mostly manual work and it can get quite tiring toward the end of the shift. We don't have a fancy front office or a showroom for the public. If a customer wants to see what we have, they just come into the loading bay where we stack the finished boxes. The building gets quite hot during the day, especially when the boilers are running at full steam. We usually take a break in the shade of the mango tree outside the gate. It is a steady life and we just focus on making enough soap to fill the orders we get from the local distributors. There’s not much more to it than that really.
