Aditi Engineering

Over at Narayan Peth Sola Road 8/273, you’ll find us at Aditi Engineering. The shop is usually full of the sound of metal being cut or welded. We deal with various engineering tasks, mostly small-scale stuff for local businesses or people who need something specific made. There is always a layer of iron filings on the floor no matter how much we sweep. We have a few lathes and a drill press that have seen a lot of use over the years. Our clothes usually have a few grease stains on them, which is just part of the job. Narayan Peth is a busy area, and the space at 8/273 is a bit tight, especially when we have a big project on the floor. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice to make sure we only have to cut once. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We’re usually wearing work boots and heavy gloves. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole day fixing it instead of doing our actual work. That’s just how it goes in a machine shop. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just take the drawings people bring in and try to turn them into something solid. It’s noisy, hot in the summer, and the work is hard, but we like seeing the finished product at the end of the week.
