Pune is a big place, but this neighborhood feels a bit more like a community where everyone knows everyone. Our shop isn't huge, but it's where all the planning happens before we head out to the job sites. We do a mix of engineering and general contracting work. It’s mostly about solving problems that come up when you’re trying to build something in a crowded city area. Sometimes the trucks can't get through the narrow streets, or the rain messes up our schedule, but that is just part of the job. We don’t use any fancy jargon to describe what we do. We just build and fix things. Most of the crew lives nearby, so we have a good feel for what the ground is like and what materials work best for the local climate. The tea shop downstairs is where we usually end up meeting people when the office gets too cramped with paperwork. We've had our share of late nights trying to finish up a quote or double-checking a measurement before the next morning's start. It gets a bit loud in the office sometimes when everyone is trying to get their orders in, but we make it work. We aren't interested in being the biggest name in Pune; we just want to do right by the folks living in Wadgaon Sheri.
