A 1 Furniture

We are located at 1103 Bajirao Road in the Sadashiv Peth area of Pune. If you know this part of town, you know it is old and narrow and always full of people. Our shop, A 1 Furniture, is packed with chairs, tables, and cabinets in various stages of being finished. There isn't much room to walk around, so you have to be careful not to trip over a stray table leg. Most of our days are spent sanding down wood or putting on a fresh coat of polish. The smell of varnish is quite strong, especially on humid days. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people just walk in because they saw our sign while stuck in traffic on Bajirao Road. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building itself has its own quirks, like the squeaky floorboards in the back room. Working in Sadashiv Peth means you get to know all the regular faces in the neighborhood. We often take our lunch breaks sitting on whatever furniture isn't sold yet. It is a small operation, usually just a few of us working together. Sometimes we get custom requests that take a lot of head-scratching to figure out. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the joints are tight and the finish looks decent. It is dusty work, but there is something nice about seeing a rough piece of wood turn into a useful chair.
