Our office is right there in the Sathiyamoorthy Nagar Bazzar in Thirumayam. If you walk down the main street, you’ll find us at Door No 3.386. It’s a busy spot, especially on market days when everyone is coming and going. We called the business Thirumayam Vayalaga Jeevidam Farmers Producer Company Limited. It’s a long name, I know. Mostly, we are just local farmers who realized we should probably work as one group instead of fighting the market alone. Farming around here has its ups and downs. Some years the rain is enough, other years we’re just watching the sky. We handle different types of produce from the fields nearby. It gets pretty loud in the bazzar, but it's where everything happens. We don't have a big team of office workers. It’s mostly us coming in from the fields to check on the books and talk about what needs doing next. We try to keep things simple. Dealing with all the paperwork for a company wasn't something we were used to, but we're figuring it out as we go. It’s better than being on your own. People stop by to chat about the crops or the prices at the market. It’s a community thing. We aren't some big city corporation. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. It’s hard work, but it’s our life. We keep at it because it’s what we have always done here in Thirumayam.
