Happy Nest Montessori Pre School & Abacus

We are tucked away on First Cross in Natesan Nagar. It’s a relatively quiet spot in Pondicherry, which is nice for the little ones we have here at Happy Nest. Being at No 15, we are easy to find if you are familiar with the neighborhood. It’s a small place, not like those giant schools you see in the city. We have a few rooms set up for the Montessori activities and the abacus classes. You will see kids playing with wooden blocks or sitting on the floor working on their tasks. It’s a lot of hands-on stuff. We don't really have a big front office or anything. It’s mostly just us teachers and the kids. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, though it can get a bit loud when everyone is excited. We spend a lot of time on the floor ourselves, showing the children how things work. Pondicherry has that coastal feel, so we get a nice breeze sometimes if the windows are open. Parents usually just drop their kids off at the gate and have a quick chat with us. It feels more like a house than a school sometimes. We keep track of the beads for the abacus and make sure the toys are put back in their boxes at the end of the day. It’s a simple job but it keeps us very busy from morning until noon.
