Ambal Kinder Garten Pre Primary School

Lawspet is usually quite busy in the mornings, and our place on Srinivasa Gounder Street is right in the middle of it all. Most people just call it Ambal school because we’ve been here at number 69 for a good while now. It isn’t a massive building with fancy glass windows or anything like that. It’s just a solid place where the younger kids from around the neighborhood come to start their schooling. We have the usual stuff you’d expect, like small desks and a bit of space for them to run around during the break. The gate makes a bit of a creak when parents drop their children off at 8:30, and usually, there’s a bit of a rush with the scooters parked outside. We try to keep things simple. The teachers here have been working with us for years, so they know most of the families by name. If a kid is crying on their first day, we just give them a bit of time to settle in with some toys or a picture book. It’s mostly about getting them used to being away from home for a few hours. Sometimes the street gets a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of rhymes being practiced. We don’t have a big office or a receptionist; usually, you just find one of us near the entrance or in a classroom. It’s a local spot for local people who want a nearby place for their kids.
