If you head over to Sahson in Prayagraj, you’ll find us working the land like we always have. Balikarnpur Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Meerapur, specifically at Randhir Singh’s spot, number 52. It’s a local effort, through and through. We aren’t interested in being some massive company that nobody recognizes. We just want to make sure the farmers in our little corner of Prayagraj get a fair shake. Farming is hard work, and doing it all by yourself in a place like Sahson can be tiring. We started this group so we could help each other out with equipment or getting the right supplies without traveling too far. Most of the time, you’ll find us just talking about the soil or the latest prices at Randhir’s place. It’s a very grounded way of doing things. We don’t use big words or have a mission statement on the wall. We just know what needs to get done before the sun goes down. The weather in Prayagraj changes fast, so we have to stay on our toes. Having this producer company means we aren't alone when things get difficult. It’s about being neighbors first and business partners second. We’ve all known each other for years, so there’s a lot of trust built up already. We just keep our heads down, work the dirt, and try to make sure everyone in the group has what they need for the next harvest.
