Sri Satsai Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over at Hanumanganj Ajbaiya in Prayagraj. If you’re looking for us, we are at the house of Gautam Singh, son of Bijali Lal Singh. It’s a very local way of finding a place, but that’s how things work in our village area. We are a farmer-owned company, mostly made up of neighbors and families from around the Ajbaiya region. We don't have a big corporate office in the city center. We just work from here, where the fields are close by. Our main thing is helping the farmers around Hanumanganj get organized. A lot of the guys here have small plots of land, so it’s hard for them to bargain by themselves. By being a producer company, we can pool everything together. It involves a lot of sitting around on the porch and talking through the plans for the next season. We don't use any fancy management techniques. We just look at what’s growing and figure out who wants to buy it. Sometimes the harvest is good, and everyone is happy. Other times, it’s a struggle. We try to keep the costs down by doing most of the work ourselves. It’s a community effort more than anything else. We’ve all known each other for years, so there’s a lot of trust, even if we argue about the details sometimes. We’re just trying to make it work for everyone involved here.
