You can find our arts and commerce college in Radhanpur, which is over in the Patan district of Gujarat. The name is a bit long, so most of the people around here just call it the college. It is a place where we teach a mix of different subjects like history, literature, and accounting for the local students. The building is actually quite old and it has that classic look with very high ceilings and wide windows to let the air inside. It gets quite dusty here because of the dry weather in this part of Gujarat, so there is almost always someone sweeping the floors. The library is probably the quietest spot in the whole place, and it is filled with rows of old books that have been read by many generations of students. We have a decent-sized ground where the students hang out under the shade of the trees when they don't have a class to attend. It is not a fast-paced environment at all. We just take things one day at a time. The staff here are mostly people who have lived in Radhanpur for their whole lives. We don’t have a lot of modern bells and whistles or any of that fancy decor you see in private schools. It is just a solid, practical place for education. The benches are hard and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the learning happens anyway in our corner of Patan.
