Nala Road is one of those places in Patna that is always moving. Our school, Honey Dew Point, is located right in the middle of all that bustle in Kadamkuan. It is a tight area with shops and houses all packed together, and our building fits right into the mix. Most of the families who send their kids here live within walking distance or just a short rickshaw ride away. The entrance is tucked away slightly, but the kids find their way in every morning around nine. It is a standard school setting. We have several floors, and the stairs are always busy when classes change over. The walls have some old posters and student projects stuck to them with tape that is starting to peel. It is just a regular school where we try to keep things organized. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to open all the windows to let the breeze in from the street. You can hear the sounds of horns and people shouting outside, but the kids are used to it and just keep working. We spend a lot of time checking notebooks and making sure the registers are up to date. It is a lot of paper work and daily chores. We have been part of this neighborhood for years and know most of the shopkeepers on the street by name. The school is not fancy, but it is a steady part of the local life here.
