Baldwin Academy

Baldwin Academy sits right on the Bypass Road in the Sabalpur area of Patna. If you know Patna, you know how busy the bypass can get with all the trucks and cars. Our school is a big, sturdy building that has been here for a good while. We have a lot of kids coming in from different parts of the city. The mornings are always a bit of a scramble when the buses pull up and the students start pouring in. We have a central courtyard where we do the morning prayers and announcements. It gets quite hot in the sun, so we don't stay out there too long. The classrooms are filled with heavy wooden benches and desks that have seen many years of use. Our teachers are a dedicated bunch who spend their days navigating through the syllabus. We have a small library and a room for science experiments, though the equipment is pretty basic. We don't try to look like those expensive private schools you see in magazines. We are a practical place for families who want their kids to learn. The hallways are usually echoing with the sound of teachers talking and feet shuffling. It’s a busy, functional environment. We just focus on the work at hand and making sure the school runs smoothly every single day. That is the way we have always done things here in Sabalpur.
