We run See Point Mens Hair Creation in the Kankarbagh area of Patna. The shop is specifically in Chitragupt Nagar. It’s a busy part of town, and we’ve been here long enough that we know many of the neighbors. It’s a men’s salon, so we focus on haircuts and shaves. We have four chairs lined up, and on weekends they are usually all full. The walls have some posters of different hair styles, though most people just ask for the same thing every time. We have a small TV in the corner that we keep on for the news or some cricket if a match is on. The floor is a bit worn from all the walking, but we keep it clean. Kankarbagh is a lively place, and you can always hear the horns and the street noise from inside the shop. We use standard tools, nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes the power goes out, so we keep the doors open to let the breeze in while we wait for the generator. It’s just a regular local shop where men come to get a quick cut and maybe complain about the traffic for a bit. We don’t do any fancy treatments, just honest hair work. We start the day early and head home once the last customer is done in the evening. It’s a basic life but we are used to it.
