Raj Mens Parlor

It’s pretty busy here most days at Raj Mens Parlor. We are located right near the Mahatama Gandhi Satu, specifically at the Dhan KA Imli spot in Gulzarbagh. Patna gets quite hot, so people often drop in to get their hair cut or a quick shave to feel a bit fresher. The shop isn't huge, but it does the job. I’ve spent many years looking out at the road from this shop. You see a lot of people passing by towards the bridge. Usually, we open up early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. My hands are usually busy with the scissors or the comb. Some of our regulars have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own sons. It’s just how things go in this part of Patna. We have those standard barber chairs that have seen a lot of use. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just use the hand fans while we wait. It is a simple life here in Gulzarbagh. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just the mirrors, the tools, and a bit of conversation. People talk about the news or the traffic on the bridge while they sit in the chair. It’s just a normal place where you can get a decent haircut without any fuss. We keep the floor swept, but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant task.
