Minar Brick

Minar Brick is located in Bidarganj in the district. It is a standard brick kiln setup like many others you might see. We spend a lot of our time tending to the fires and making sure the bricks are coming out the right way after they bake. It is a lot of physical labor and sweating. My father did this work before me and now I am doing it too. We do not have any big goals other than keeping the kiln running and getting the orders out to the customers on time. Bidarganj is a place where everyone kind of knows each other, so we try to just stay focused on our own work and stay out of trouble. The dust gets everywhere, in your hair and in your clothes, but you get used to that after a week. We do not have a computer in the office, just a wooden desk and some old ledgers we use to track the loads. It is a very hands-on type of job. We are usually out in the yard checking the stacks or talking to the truck drivers who come through the district. Some days are really hot, and we just want to sit in the shade and drink water, but the bricks do not move themselves. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our job in Bidarganj and go home at the end of the day. It is a simple life for us.
