Abc Bricks

Our place, Abc Bricks, is located in Ward No. 31 right on Ashok Rajpath in Bankipur. It’s a very busy area because we are so close to Patna University and the State Bank of India. There is always a lot of traffic, and students are walking by at all hours. The noise of the buses on Ashok Rajpath is something you just learn to ignore after the first few months here. We have a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with the trucks coming in to drop off materials. It’s not the quietest spot to run a brick business, but we make it work. I spend most of my day making sure the stacks are secure and checking on the workers. The air is often thick with the smell of the city and the grit from the bricks. Sometimes the bank line gets so long it spills out near our gate. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to sell the bricks we have so we can bring in more. It’s a cycle that’s been going on for years. I remember when this whole road looked different, but the need for bricks hasn't changed much. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the next delivery. If a customer comes in, we stop what we’re doing and help them out. It’s basic, local business. We don’t try to be anything we’re not.
