We are based over at Gaur House on Bailey Road in Patna. It’s an old part of the city, and the building has been there for quite a long time. India Tourism Development Corporation uses this space as our main hub here in Bihar. If you know the 800001 area, you know it’s always crowded and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Inside, it’s a bit more stable, though we have stacks of documents and maps all over the place. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through various schedules. It’s a government-related setup, so there are plenty of forms and procedures we have to follow every single day. We don’t have any of those modern glass walls or fancy lounges you see in movies. It is just a practical office with sturdy wooden desks and old-fashioned fans. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a working office, not a showroom. Most of us have been here for years, so we know the building's quirks, like which drawer sticks and which light switch needs a little extra push. Bailey Road is a main stretch, so we get to see the heart of Patna every time we step out for lunch. It’s a busy, noisy, and honest place to work. We just show up, do our jobs, and try to keep everything organized for the people who need us.
