Hotel Samrat Intl., Patna

We are over on D.V.C. Road in the Yarpur area of Patna. The building is called Jadu-Nir and that’s where Hotel Samrat Intl. is located. It’s a busy part of town, and we get a lot of people staying with us who are here for work or visiting family. The hotel isn't one of those towering skyscrapers. It’s more of a local spot that people know by word of mouth. I’ve been working here for a while and I’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Inside, it’s pretty standard. We have the rooms, a lobby area where people wait, and the staff running around. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or the AC in a room needs a quick fix, and we just deal with it right then. We try to keep the place tidy, but it's a lived-in kind of building. It has character, I guess you could say. People coming from the station or the airport find us easily enough. We don't do much in the way of big advertising. Most of our guests are regulars who like that we recognize them when they walk in. We just focus on getting people their keys and making sure they have a decent place to sleep for the night. It’s a simple operation here in Yarpur. We’re just a local hotel trying to stay busy and keep the lights on for our guests. It is just real, everyday work.
