Hotel Maurya

Hotel Maurya is run by us over at Ram Bachan Sadan in the Chankya Vihar Colony. We are located right off Ambedkar Path on Baily Road in Patna -14. The building belongs to the family of Raghubansh Kumar Singh. It’s more of a personal, family-run kind of place than those big chains you see in the city center. We’ve got a few rooms that we keep as tidy as we can. My father bought this land years ago and we eventually decided to open up for guests. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that means it’s quieter for sleeping. We don't have a big staff, so if the doorbell rings, it’s usually one of us running from the kitchen or the back room to see who it is. We grow some vegetables in the small patch of dirt behind the house. Sometimes the Wi-Fi is spotty in the corner rooms, but we’re trying to fix that with a new router. Baily Road is always changing, with new shops opening up all the time. We’ve seen it all happen from our spot here in the colony. We don't do much in the way of fancy stuff. It’s just a house that we share with people who need a place to stay. It feels like home to us, and we hope it feels okay to the folks who visit. We usually have tea ready in the mornings for whoever wants it.
