You can find us over at Exhibition Road, up on the first floor of Umang Palace. It’s right near Hotel Windsor, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find the building for the first time. Alamanya Travels Co has been operating from this room for some time. We’ve got a few desks and some old maps on the wall. It’s not a big corporate setup or anything like that. We mostly handle people coming in from the nearby hotels or offices who need to get a ticket sorted out quickly. The stairs can be a bit steep, but once you’re up here, it’s a bit quieter than the main road. We spend a lot of time on the computer checking routes and making sure the seats are actually available. Sometimes we have to call the drivers multiple times to see where they are. It’s just the way it goes here in Patna. People stop by after lunch or on their way home to check prices. We don't use any fancy sales talk, we just tell you what the cost is and what time you need to show up. Sometimes the printer jams when we’re trying to hand over a receipt, and we just laugh it off and fix it. It’s a simple life, helping people plan their journeys and making sure they don’t miss their connections. We like being in this part of town because everything is close.
