Mar Thoma College

Down in Tiruvalla, Kerala, you will find Mar Thoma College, situated in the 689103 area. Being in Kerala, we get a lot of rain, so the campus is always looking very green and lush, though it can get a bit muddy around the walkways. The buildings have that classic look, with sloped roofs to help the water run off during the monsoon months. We have a lot of students who come from the surrounding villages, often taking the bus or walking in. The atmosphere here is usually quite calm, with the sound of the birds in the trees and the distant noise of the town. We don't have any of that corporate feel here. It’s more like a big family where everyone recognizes each other in the corridors. The labs and classrooms are well-used, and you can tell by the marks on the desks and the worn-out stairs. We have a small canteen where the students get their tea and snacks, and it’s always the loudest place on campus. Life moves at its own pace in Tiruvalla, and we don't try to rush things too much. We focus on the daily schedule and making sure the students are getting their work done. It’s a practical, honest sort of place that has been part of the local landscape for a long time. We just open the doors every morning and do what needs to be done.
