Madonna International Residential School

Out here in Puthenpeedika, things are a bit quieter than in the middle of town. We are located in Churulicode, which is a nice part of Pathanamthitta. The school has kids who stay with us, so it’s more like a big house in many ways. Since it’s a residential setup, the mornings start pretty early with everyone getting ready. You can hear the noise of the kids waking up and getting to their breakfast. We’ve got the classrooms and the dorms all in the same general area, so nobody has to travel far. The grounds are okay for running around, and we try to keep things tidy, though with so many kids, there’s always something to clean up. It’s a bit of a trek for some parents to visit, but we are right there on the map if you’re looking for us. Life here revolves around the school calendar, with exams and holidays being the big markers of time. We see the kids grow up quite a bit while they are with us, which is always something to see. The staff lives nearby or on-site, so someone is always around if a student needs something in the middle of the night or early morning. It’s a simple life, really. We focus on the lessons and making sure everyone is fed and has a place to sleep. It’s just a regular school doing its best in Pathanamthitta. We just keep things moving along year after year.
