Larsen & Toubro Limited (Wpb)

You can find us over in Kharagpur, tucked away near the Social Forestry area. Our office is part of the Hijli Cooperative Society. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of town, located near the Divisional Forest Office. Because of all the trees around, it’s actually a bit cooler here than in the center of Medinipur. We are the WPB division. The office itself is quite plain, almost like a government building with its heavy wooden desks and old-fashioned shelves. We have a lot of maps and charts pinned up on the walls. It’s a quiet spot, which helps when we have to focus on the paperwork. Sometimes you can hear the birds from the forest area nearby. The post office is just a short walk away, and that’s where we get most of our mail. We don’t have a fancy break room, so we usually just sit at our desks with a cup of tea. The building has been here for years and it shows in the cracks in the ceiling. We don't mind it much. It’s a functional space for what we do. The road leading up to the society can be a bit bumpy, especially after the rains. We’ve gotten used to the quiet pace of this area. It’s a very grounded place to work, far from the noise of the city. We keep things moving at our own steady pace here.
