We are located right near the Vidyasagarpur Sporting Club in Kharagpur. It is a pretty recognizable landmark in this part of West Bengal. Our office for Reinforced Earth India Pvt. Ltd is where we handle the planning for various construction projects. You can often hear the noise from the club when there is a match or an event going on, which makes the workday a bit more interesting. The office itself is quite basic with a few desks and some old cabinets for all the project files. We do a lot of work involving retaining walls and soil reinforcement, so there are always technical drawings spread out everywhere. The humidity in Kharagpur can be tough, so we keep the windows shut and the fans going all day. Sometimes our engineers are out in the field and the office feels quiet, but usually, there is someone typing away or talking on the phone with a contractor. We don't have a polished front desk; you just walk in and see us working. We’ve been at this location for a while and have seen the neighborhood change around the sporting club. It’s a straightforward place to work. We spend our time checking measurements and making sure the supplies are moving to the sites on time. It is mostly just about getting the engineering right and keeping track of the materials while the busy life of Kharagpur goes on outside our doors.
