Harshada Agro Producer Company Limited is located in Mardasgaon, which is part of Gangakhed. We operate out of a small place in the village. This area is where we all live and work, so it made sense to set up the company right here near the post office. We are a producer company, which sounds formal, but really it’s just us farmers coming together. We deal with whatever crops are in season around Gangakhed. It could be cotton, soya, or grains depending on the year. Our office is just a room where we keep our files and meet up after the day's work is done in the fields. We don't have a website or a marketing person. We just talk to the other farmers in the village and figure out how to help each other. The roads around Mardasgaon can be a bit rough, but we are used to it. The company helps us get a better handle on the selling part of farming, which is usually the hardest bit for a single person to do. We are just regular people from the taluka. We know the soil here and we know the families who have been farming it for generations. Harshada is just a name on the paperwork; the real work is happening out in the sun every day. That’s how we like to keep it. Nothing too complicated, just a way to make the farm work pay off.
