If you travel down to the 82 Mile area, you’ll find us. We are located at Vill-82, and Rabike Darlong is the person who keeps things organized for us. Thlaithar Organic Producer Company Limited is really just a collection of neighbors who decided to work as one group. We are out in a more remote part of the region, so we have to rely on each other a lot more than folks in the city do. Organic farming is the main thing here. We don't like the idea of putting stuff into the ground that shouldn't be there. It’s more work, sure, but it feels right for the village. The hills around 82 Mile are beautiful, but they make for some tough farming sometimes when the slope is steep. We have to be careful with how we plant so the rain doesn't wash everything away. Most of us have been doing this since we were kids, so we aren't learning anything new, just trying to be more efficient as a group. There’s no big office or fancy desks with computers. We usually have our meetings outside or in a small room at the village. It’s honest work that keeps us busy throughout the year. We don't have a lot of time for leisure, but seeing the crops grow makes it worth it. We are just local people trying to make a go of it with what we have.
