Somnath Marble

Somnath Marble is located at 91 Mandia Road. It’s basically a big yard filled with slabs of stone and marble. We’ve been here quite a while, and the place is usually covered in a thin layer of white dust from the cutting. Dealing with stone is heavy, slow work. We spend our time moving pieces around, showing people the different patterns, and loading up trucks. It’s not a glamorous job. Your back hurts by five o’clock and the sun can be brutal out in the yard. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. You just walk around the stacks of marble and pick what looks right for your floor or counter. We’ve seen a lot of houses get built using the materials from our lot. Mandia Road is a good place for a business like this because there's enough space for the big vehicles to come and go. We aren't great at sales pitches. We just tell you the price per foot and let the stone speak for itself. Some days are slow and we just sit in the shade, and other days everyone seems to want their delivery at the same time. It’s just how the stone business goes. We’re just regular folks trying to run a decent yard and keep the inventory moving without too much fuss.
