S. R. Granites

Our yard is at 82 Vasant Vihar, right across from Bangad College. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows the college. S. R. Granites is basically just a big space filled with heavy stone slabs. Moving these things around is hard work and it's loud, so we apologize to the neighbors for the noise sometimes. The dust gets everywhere, even on our clothes by the end of the day. We spend a lot of time out in the sun moving pieces around. It’s not an easy job, but we've been doing it at this spot for a while. The students from the college are always walking by, making the area feel lively. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of what you see is just stacked up in the yard. We try to keep things organized, but when a new shipment comes in, it can get a bit cluttered for a few days. We use a lot of water to keep the dust down while cutting. It’s just me and a couple of guys handling the heavy lifting. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy stuff for us. We just show up, move some granite, and go home. That’s life at number 82. If you see the big stones near the college, that’s where we are. It gets pretty muddy when it rains, so we wear boots most of the year. The work is heavy, but it keeps us in shape.
