Ambica Granites

This place is located out in the Phalan industrial area, specifically in the fifth phase. If you know G-58-59, then you know it is mostly just a lot of noise and heavy lifting around here. We deal with granite slabs all day, and it is honestly back-breaking work most of the time. The machines for cutting and polishing are loud, so you have to shout a bit just to be heard over the racket. Everything is covered in a thin layer of stone dust, no matter how much we try to spray things down with water. It is a big space, but it feels small when we have a new shipment coming in and the trucks are trying to back into the loading area. We spend most of our time checking the edges of the stones and making sure the polish looks right. The sun beats down on the metal roof during the afternoon, and it gets pretty warm inside the unit. We usually take our lunch break sitting on some of the scrap pieces out back where there is a little bit of shade. It isn’t a glamorous job by any means. We are just here doing the work, moving heavy pieces from one side of the floor to the other and making sure the measurements are what they need to be. There are a lot of other units nearby doing similar things, so there is always the sound of forklifts and trucks moving around the phase. It's just a lot of stone and sweat.
