Nidhi Marbles

Over on Arya Samaj Road in Sheoganj, you can find our place, Nidhi Marbles. It’s a busy enough street, and we’ve been here for a good amount of time now. We keep a variety of marble and tiles on display for anyone who walks in. The shop is mostly just a big open space where we can lean the slabs against the walls so people can see them properly. Moving these things is a two-person job at least, and we’re always careful not to chip the edges. The street outside can get a bit loud with the traffic, but inside we just focus on helping whoever comes in to pick out stone for their floors or counters. We don't use any fancy sales talk, we just show them what we have and tell them how much it costs. Sometimes we have to order things in if someone wants something we don't have in the yard right then. The ledger stays on the main desk where we write down everything by hand. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but Arya Samaj Road still has that same local feel to it. Most of our customers are just local families or small contractors from around Sheoganj. It’s a simple business, selling stone that lasts a long time, and we just take it one day at a time, keeping the inventory organized and the yard clean.
