Ig Cement Depo

Our place is right by the New Bus Stand, so you can imagine how much dust and noise there is all the time. Ig Cement Depo is basically just a big warehouse where we keep the bags stacked high. It’s a heavy job, moving those sacks of cement around all day. Our clothes are usually covered in a fine grey powder by the time we go home. It’s not a clean job, but someone has to do it. Trucks come and go constantly, blocking the road for a bit while we load them up. The neighbors sometimes complain about the noise, but that’s just how it is near the bus stand. We don’t have an office with fancy chairs; usually, we just sit on a wooden stool or a crate when we need a break. We keep a ledger to track who bought what, and it’s getting pretty thick now. Rain is the biggest problem because we have to rush to cover everything up so the cement doesn't get ruined. Some days the sun beats down on the tin roof and it gets incredibly hot inside. We just drink plenty of water and keep moving. People from the nearby construction sites stop by to place orders or just to see what we have in stock. It’s a simple business, nothing more than selling cement and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day. We stay open until the last truck is gone.
