Our place is right on Ramdev Road, smack in the middle of the Main Market area. Being Ashapura Lime Suppliers Cement means we deal with a lot of heavy stuff and plenty of white dust. The market is always loud, so we’ve gotten used to shouting a bit just to be heard over the scooters and carts. We carry lime and different types of cement for the local building projects going on around here. The shop is mostly just a big storage area with a small space for us to sit and handle the money. It stays pretty cool inside because of the high ceilings, which is nice during the summer months. We get a lot of contractors coming in early before they head to their job sites. Some of them have been buying from us since we first opened up on Ramdev Road. We don’t really bother with big signs or anything, people just know we’re the ones with the stacks of bags near the corner. Dealing with lime can be messy, and our hands are usually pretty dry by the end of the shift. It’s just how it goes in this business. We make sure the orders are right and the trucks get loaded up quickly. It’s a busy life in the market but we wouldn't have it any other way. It is practical and keeps us going.
