Heena Readymade & General Store

You can find us at 115 near the Mill Gate at Subhash Chouraha. Heena Readymade & General Store is a busy little place. Since we are right near the chouraha, there is always a lot of noise and people moving about from morning until night. We sell a bit of everything, from ready-made clothes to general things people need for their kitchens like spices or soap. It’s a lot to keep track of. The shelves are packed right up to the ceiling with boxes and bags. Sometimes it’s hard to find things if you don’t know where to look in the back. We spend the day helping people pick out outfits or weighing out items they need for cooking. The floor is old tile and it’s seen better days, showing some cracks here and there. We have a couple of small stools for people to sit on if they are waiting for a friend. It’s a very local vibe here. We know most of the people who live in the nearby houses and apartments. The traffic at the Mill Gate can be a nightmare in the evening, so we usually see a lot of people stopping in while they wait for the buses or auto-rickshaws to arrive. It’s not a fancy store by any means. It’s just a practical spot for the neighborhood to get their things. We don't have any big mission, we just keep the shop stocked and open for whoever needs something. It’s just a regular day-to-day business that we run.
