Ganpati Marbals

Ganpati Marbals is located in the Rani Industrial Area at 44/C. Since we are in the industrial zone, the whole place feels very different from a regular market. It’s loud and there is a lot of heavy machinery moving around all the time. We have huge slabs of stone sitting out in the yard, mostly marble and some other types too. The air is usually thick with stone dust, so we wear masks when the cutters are running. It’s hard work moving these heavy pieces of rock, and we use a lot of water to keep the blades cool when we are sizing the slabs. We don't get a lot of walk-in foot traffic here, it’s mostly trucks coming in to load up or contractors coming to pick out specific stones for their projects. The yard is quite big and it can get very muddy when it rains, making it tricky to move the inventory around. We spend a lot of time outside in the sun checking the quality of the stone and making sure the edges are straight. Our office is just a small room at the front with a couple of chairs and a ledger where we write down the weights and prices. It’s a gritty, practical business and we’ve been part of this industrial area for quite some time now.
